The horse treking center is located on a 150 acre beef ranch on the east coats north of whangarei. The ranch breeds hereford cattle, coopworth sheep and free range turkey.

we have a bird sanctuary in the middle of the ranch and have both bittern (matuku) and brown teal (pateke) breeding on the ranch. This area and great barrier island are the only places on earth where the pateke can be found.
